Cassie Georgopoulos is a Registered Music Therapist who holds a Masters of Music Therapy (M.Mus.Thy) from the University of Melbourne.
Prior to her Masters, Cassie also completed a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus), majoring in Musical Theatre. After completing her Bachelor, Cassie was seen in a variety of cabaret performances and children’s touring shows around Brisbane and Australia. Cassie began working with the Starlight Children’s Foundation as Captain Starlight, and this was where her passion grew for helping others through music.
As a musical theatre major, Cassie’s strengths lie in creative expression of music through dance, speech and improvisation.
During her Master’s degree, Cassie has worked with a diverse range of adults, young people, children and families in private practice and hospital settings whilst working in a multidisciplinary team. Throughout her clinical placements, Cassie has developed an interest in working with children of all abilities and adults who may face mental health challenges.
Cassie hopes to publish research which will support the need for therapeutic singing for adults in mental health, and music therapy interventions to support Women’s health.
