We also ensure that you and our staff are aware of both your rights and responsibilities to ensure the safety of all and to support best practice at all times.
We respect your rights to access music therapy in safe and meaningful ways, and to be treated with dignity at all times. We will ensure your rights to the following at all times:
- A person centred approach to therapy
- The highest standards and quality in music therapy services provided by appropriately qualified staff
- Privacy and confidentiality
- Information to make informed decisions
- Collaborative input to support plans, goals setting and services provided
- The inclusion of a support person, advocate or delegate of authorities if required
- The right to complain about services without fear of disadvantage
- Knowledge that complaints will be dealt with swiftly, fairly and confidentially
- Access information and support to understand your legal and human rights
We ask that you also remember that you are responsible to
- Give adequate notice if you cannot make a session (see Cancellation Policy)
- Act in ways that are respectful of all Music Beat clients, families and staff, including not yelling or abusing staff
- Respect the property of Music Beat and take care when playing instruments
- Ensure you have adequate funds to pay for your invoices
- Read, sign and return all paperwork including Service Agreements, Support Plans and Face to Face agreements
- Be punctual to appointments
- Give two weeks’ notice if you wish to end your music therapy program.
