Tom is a Registered Music Therapist who has always been deeply passionate about supporting others. Prior to joining the Music Beat Therapy team, Tom spent six years employed as a disability support worker, running group music programs as a part of this role.
Tom completed a Bachelor of Music and Sound Design in 2018, and has experience in both music production and performance, having released music and toured Australia, Japan and the Philippines as a guitarist and vocalist in various bands.
During his Master of Music Therapy, Tom engaged in development-focused therapy for children with a range of abilities, and mental health support for adults of all ages in an inpatient facility. Tom also introduced and integrated music therapy into a multidisciplinary clinical team of occupational therapists and speech pathologists working to support vulnerable children and their families living in remote and rural NSW.
Tom is a lifelong fan of pop, rock, funk and blues. The guitar is Tom’s favourite instrument to play, and he also loves singing and playing the drums. When he is not playing music he is a keen swimmer and bushwalker, and especially likes seeing animals out in the wild.
