Music therapy is a great intervention for people of all ages and abilities. Our music therapists will be able to provide age appropriate programs to suit everyone, whether they are 5 months, 5 years, or 50 years or older!
Definitely not! Though it is in our opinion that everyone has musicality inside them – it’s just that sometimes we feel self conscious about showing it! Music is able to access different parts of the brain without us really being conscious of it, and music therapy uses this to encourage achievement and success in many different developmental areas.
Music therapy does not have to include loud noises. All of our music therapists are trained allied health professionals and will facilitate suitable musical activities for individual sensory limitations; including noise, touch, and visuals.
We provide individual and group music therapy services from our clinic space, located at 702 Sandgate Road, Clayfield QLD 4011.
We also offer ‘in-house’ music therapy sessions to schools, respite centres and community organisations in the Brisbane, bayside, Ipswich, Logan and Moreton Bay areas.
You can find all of our fee structures on the Fees page under the Services menu.

Music Beat is committed to ensuring your safety at all times. All staff have appropriate training and qualifications to undertake their roles, and relevant police checks to work with children and with people living with disabilities.
Music Beat treats any allegation of abuse, assault or neglect very seriously. Allegations may be subject to both mandatory reporting and police involvement.
Music Beat staff will uphold all workplace safety regulations and work with you to keep the environment we conduct therapy in safe. We ask that you report any hazards or risks you become aware of and act in a way that protects your safety and that of our staff when receiving our services.
Music Beat Therapy Services may choose to terminate services with clients if situations are deemed unsafe for you or our staff, if financial requirements are not being met, or if we determine that we cannot support you to meet your functional goals. In this instance, we will consult with you/your primary carer and support worker (if applicable) to ensure safe practices are being followed.
If your music therapy goals are met and you decide it is time to move on we will provide you with a closure program and a report, and celebrate the wins!
If you wish to terminate services we will work with you to identify the reasons why and rectify any issues you have identified that have not contributed to you meeting your goals. We will also respect your wishes and conduct a closure program. We require at least two weeks’ notice for any cessation of treatment so that we can provide proper closure for both you/your loved one and our therapists.
If you do not have enough funding to continue the way you wish to, we will work with you to see if there are options to reduce services or use therapy supports to help continue supporting you until your review date.
We are a growing team and always looking for ways to meet your needs. If we can’t see you at our clinic or in our mobile service at a time or a day that suits you, we will refer you to one of our colleagues or send you information on the AMTA ‘Find a Music Therapist’ function.
