Our Therapy Team

Meet the Team

Our team at Music Beat Therapy Services includes Registered Music Therapists (RMTs), Allied Health Therapy Assistants (AHTAs), and dedicated administrative staff who work collaboratively to provide high-quality, client-centred services.

A key point of difference in our service is the clinical experience of our Registered Music Therapists, alongside the integration of Therapy Assistants in many sessions to support engagement, consistency, and skill development.

Registered Music Therapists

All of our music therapists are Registered Music Therapists (RMTs) with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA). The Australian Music Therapy Association is a member organisation of Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) and National Alliance for Self Regulating Professions (NASRHP). To become an RMT in Australia, practitioners must:

  • Complete an AMTA-approved university qualification (Bachelor or Master’s degree in Music Therapy)
  • Undertake extensive clinical training and supervised placements
  • Meet national competency standards in assessment, program planning, and therapeutic practice
  • Adhere to the AMTA Code of Ethics and professional practice guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing professional development (Continuing Professional Development) to maintain registration.

Registered Music Therapists are qualified allied health professionals trained to assess, design, implement, and evaluate individualised therapy programs using music to support a wide range of clinical and developmental needs.

Our RMTs bring years of clinical experience across disability, mental health, early childhood, aged care, and community settings, ensuring therapy is both evidence-informed and responsive to each participant.

Allied Health Therapy Assistants

Our Allied Health Therapy Assistants (AHTAs) work under the direct supervision of a Registered Music Therapist.

If you are working with an AHTA:

  • Your Registered Music Therapist will complete your assessment
  • They will develop and oversee your therapy program
  • They will monitor progress and adjust goals as needed
  • They are regularly on-site and involved in your sessions

AHTAs support the delivery of therapy programs, helping to reinforce goals, build consistency, and support participants in applying skills within sessions.

Our AHTAs are often:

  • Students training to become music therapists
  • Experienced musicians, educators, or support workers with relevant backgrounds

All assistants receive structured supervision and guidance to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery.

Administration Team

Our administrative team supports the smooth delivery of services and is available to assist at any stage of your journey.

The team includes:

  • Practice Manager (also a Registered Music Therapist)
  • NDIS Service Agreement Support, assisting with planning and documentation
  • Finance manager, supporting invoicing and accounts
  • Administrative Support, assisting with bookings, enquiries, and general coordination

Our team is available to help with enquiries, service agreements, scheduling, and ongoing support, ensuring a clear and responsive experience for participants and families.

Together, our clinical and administrative teams work to provide coordinated, professional, and person-centred services that support meaningful outcomes for every participant.
